7. Disney’s Recess (Disney Channel)

“Disney’s Recess” is about a barkada attending public elementary school. In the playgrounds, the schoolchildren have their own political system. TJ Detweiler leads his gang of misfits to rebel against his teachers, the school administration even up to the Education Board who arrive in helicopters and limousines.
What makes this show alien to Filipinos is that elementary students here are trained to be submissive and obedient. Also Philippine public school is different from American public school. Here, our teachers pay for painting the classroom walls out of their own salary. The students clean the school grounds regularly, since there are no janitors. Classrooms crowded with barefoot children who share what books, desks and teachers are provided by the government.
8. Codename: Kids Next Door (Cartoon Network)

“Codename: Kids Next Door” is about a group of child secret agents bent on defending the children of the world against adult oppression. Totally alien to Filipinos, since they believe in respecting their elders. The characters in KND answer back to their parents, talk mean to their teachers and elder siblings, and engage in combat with them.
Si Inday at ang mga Galamay
Because the MTRCB, and a lot of attention-seeking politicians will get mad.
